The University of Prešov hosted an official visit by the Ambassador of the French Republic, His Excellency Mr. Nicolas Suran, who arrived with a delegation consisting of Mr. Sébastien Girard (First Secretary), Mr. Thomas Perrin (Attaché for Scientific and University Cooperation), and Ms. Bronislava Sinčáková (Press and Communications Attaché).

The delegation was first received by the university management, Rector Dr.h.c. prof. PhDr. Peter Kóny, PhD., followed by a short visit to the Welcome Office. At the Faculty of Arts, the ambassador met with the dean, Prof. PhDr. Beáta Balogová, PhD., and representatives of the Institute of German and Romance Studies (IGAR), where they discussed the development of cooperation between the French Alliance and IGAR and the possibilities for further cooperation with France.

The visit culminated in a lecture by the ambassador addressed to students and the academic community. The director of the Institute of German and Romance Studies, doc. Ján Drengubiak, PhD, was responsible for organizing the entire program. The meetings took place in a very constructive atmosphere and contributed to strengthening mutual relations and academic ties.
