Abstract

The paper is devoted to the personal preconditions of a social worker, which are, in addition to the qualification preconditions, theoretical knowledge and acquired skills, an integral part of the personality of every social worker. We also consider empathy to be one of the important personality traits of a social worker. In the presented paper, we define the concept of empathy, the personality of a social worker, which is a very important component in his work as well as in relation to the client.

SUMMARY

During his own work, a social worker comes into frequent and especially close contact with people. His job is to solve problems and tasks that are solved on a personal level. The role of a social worker often requires a quick and correct decision, personal commitment to solving clients' problems, emotional balance, theoretical and practical erudition and, of course, adherence to ethics. It affects the overall atmosphere and their relationship, how the social worker influences the client, how he chooses the tone of his voice, or how he tries to help the client. A professional is a person who has not only obtained the right to perform a specific profession but is a person who has the personal equipment belonging to the given profession. The personal preconditions of a social worker are a set of qualities that he should have at his disposal, and which make his work with the client easier and better. Empathy is one of them that should not be missing in his equipment.
