Abstract
In this article, we will try to approach the method of catechesis of Ambrose of Milan at the time when he was a bishop in Milan. The primary source of the presented analysis was his work "De sacramentis", which deals with the basic mysteries of the Church, which were received by the newly baptized catechumens.

SUMMARY
Although Blessed Augustine was a disciple of St. Ambrose, in his catechetical practice he followed local North African traditions more closely as an example of the Bishop of Milan. The general plan of the catechetical practice of Blessed Augustine differed from the way in which Ambrose of Milan was common, because Augustine was dominated by a practice that was more similar to the catechetical practice of St. John Chrysostom. Ambrose was rather a continuation of the mystagogic tradition of Cyril of Jerusalem. In his catechetical homilies "On the Sacraments", Ambróz was not only a talented mystagologist, but also a sensitive psychologist. He began any explanation with the fact that he was skeptical of the view of a man who doubts everything that happens in these liturgical mysteries. He based his explanation of the holy secrets on the basis of the saving knowledge that the newly baptized Christians received during the catechesis. To this end, he drew attention to the biblical story of man's salvation and followed up on God's greatest miracles with the work of the benevolence of the Holy Spirit in liturgical rites. In the article we tried to approach Ambrose's understanding of the Holy Baptism in the context of the biblical basis of the Old and New Testaments, as well as his system of catechesis in the light week. We also see from the content that he was an excellent teacher and a talented rhetoric. His approach in catechesis is very simple and accessible to all ages and levels of education of listening Christians.
