Abstract

I would like to pay attention to the personality of the worker as well as his direct work with the client and what can influence his quality. From this point of view, I would like to address the contribution of a person-centered approach to social work. My interest in psychotherapeutic issues led me to choose this topic. Getting to know Carl Rogers' work has led me to a deeper interest in this psychotherapeutic direction. Since autumn 2017 I have worked as an educator in the center for children and family. I am currently working in a social services home and I believe that for social work and other professions that aim to help others, this direction is enriching and motivating to personal and relationship growth.

SUMMARY

We think that PCA psychotherapeutic training can be a good tool for a social worker that can lead to better work and a positive personality growth. The perception of man, as perceived by Carl Rogers and the PCA philosophy, with its positive value and potential, in my opinion, provides a positive motivation for working with people, which may otherwise be routine and tiring. Most PCA's application in social work practices hampers performance pressure and limited time to build a deeper client relationship. These limits are, in my opinion, different in different organizations. That is why I think that there is scope for applying some of the PCA principles everywhere. The impetus for the practice that I would like to give from this paper is the importance of the worker's motivation for attending psycho-therapeutic training.
