Abstract
The article describes the person of the Old Testament Prophet Moses, who is one of the most prominent figures of biblical Israel. Moses' description is based on the comparison of old legends describing similar personalities with fates that are close to Moses' life. These are Egyptian stories from which the later Jewish authors tried to get out to make Moses to become the national identity of Israel. Finally, it supplied an explanation of a particular type of medieval western view of Moses with horns.

SUMMARY
Moses is the central human figure of books from Exodus to Deuteronomy. In Biblical tradition, his person is perceived as a prophetic figure, like the one who has spoken face to face with Yahweh. The younger writings and legends of Moses from a later date describe Moses as an exceptional and unique figure in the history of Israel. Older collections and narratives about Moses have just undergone some theological transformation in this period. Israel in the post-exile period of identity had to re-evaluate its theological heritage. However, the Biblical tradition seeks to demythologize and plant them from the beginning of their activity to a particular historical age. In the case of our Moses, if there was any older service and connection with the Egyptian origin of Moses, the Hebrew author tries to dispossess Moses's connection with Egypt and give him clear Hebrew contours that will be useful for building the national identity of the future of Israel.
