Digital multimedia LCD panels (Digital Media Suite system, hereinafter referred to as "DMS") of the University of Prešov in Prešov is an information system intended for playback of centrally and remotely managed multimedia content (texts, images, video, web pages, scrolling messages and their combination). .

Characteristics of DMS

DMS is a comprehensive tool for creating, distributing and publishing multimedia content. It offers tools for sharing video content based on social networks, publishing multimedia to presentation and information boards. It enables the use of computer network television on a university basis and at the same time offers these possibilities for publishing educational content.

DMS focuses on 3 basic groups of applications:

• Cisco Digital Signs – uses multimedia content of digital presentation surfaces (LCD panels) and provides a quick presentation of information with different focus,
• Cisco Show and Share – a communication tool in the form of a social network aimed at sharing video content,
• Cisco Cast – delivers video content in the form of live events or on demand, that is, already processed video presentations in the form of an archive. It allows you to define TV channels and thus create a TV network for different content with a focus on increasing the effectiveness of information provided to target groups.

Broadcasting on the LCD panels of the DMS system takes place from Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., except public holidays.

Playback of multimedia content is possible on LCD panels located in objects:

• 2 units in the VŠA building, Ul. 17 November 1,
• 1 unit in the PF building, Ul. 17 November 15,
• 1 pc in the PBF building, Masarykova 15,
• 1 unit in the FM building, Konštántínova 16,
• 1 unit in the GTF building, Ul. Bishop Gojdič 2,
• 1 pc in the building ŠDJ PU, Ul. 17 November 13
