The University of Prešov in Prešov presents a new service provided by the PU Computing Center, which is the Key Order Information System . The information system Key order (hereinafter referred to as "ISKP") is an IS used to record the borrowing of keys at building gatehouses. This IS was originally developed and is widely used at the Technical University in Košice, and PU acquired it as part of the development project of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Slovak Republic.
 

ISKP is currently used in the following objects:
- object at Ul. 17. novembra 1 (front and back gatehouse)
- building on Ul. 17 November 15 (main gatehouse and gatehouse in section E)
- building on Ul. Partizánska 1
- building on Ul. November 17, 2013 (FŠ PU gatehouse)

Until now, key records were kept in paper form (in a notebook) at PU. ISKP brings digitalization to this area, bringing the following advantages:

- Loan records are partially automated (the doorman does not need to write down the name of the applicant and the time of the loan), which means a certain acceleration of the loan process.
- Digital records are recorded on a central server, which is backed up, and loan information is not lost this way, it is more difficult to manipulate and at the same time easier to access.
- The doorman has access to the database of employees and students via ISKP and can therefore check whether the applicant's card is valid and whether the applicant is really its owner.

ISKP makes a difference in the previous approach of applicants to borrowing keys. The applicant must show a valid ID card (student or employee) by attaching the ID card to the chip card reader located at the gate. Only on the basis of this action will the gatekeeper issue the requested key, while the applicant can take the pass away (which has not been the practice at some gatehouses so far). When designing the system, applicants without a license were also considered, but this reduces the efficiency and simplicity of the entire loan process. More information about the loan process can be found here .
