ANOTÁCIA:
The project is proposed as a response to the situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the university's transition to hybrid and remote learning. In the case of universities educating in medical and health sciences, this is an additional challenge, because many subjects are difficult in the form of practical classes. The aim of the project is therefore to adapt education in such fields as Nursing and Emergency Medical Services to modern learning in a remote system in order to achieve the highest level of education and create an international training program for practical subjects. During the project implementation, it is expected to create the results of intellectual work such as:- an interactive, multilingual coursebook an e-learning platform consisting of a collection of videos recorded in the medical simulation center and practical vocational training laboratories providing instructions for performing the procedures. It is necessary to educate a professional paramedic or nurse. The interactive manual will be prepared in a multilingual form, i.e. each procedure will be translated into Polish, Czech, Slovak and English. The learning how to perform medical procedures is accompanied by language learning, necessary to work in an international environment- joint, international training program of practical subjects in the fields of Nursing and Emergency Medical Services; training program of two specialist courses: “Healthcare worker in a crisis situation” and “Work in international medical rescue teams”. The project also includes the preparation of full course materials, both remote, hybrid and traditional. The video materials will be included as additional modules for the interactive handbook In addition, during the project, it is planned to organize a training for academic teachers “Practical training of Nursing and Emergency Medical Services students” on conducting practical classes in low and high fidelity laboratories (medical simulation center), as well as conducting the first, pilot edition of the courses “Healthcare worker in crisis situation” and “Work in international medical teams”. It is also planned to organize two international conferences: “Nursing and Emergency Medical Services - remote and hybrid education” combined with the presentation and dissemination of an interactive, multilingual textbook (coursebook) and the conference “International medical teams” combined with the presentation of the learning outcomes obtained during the courses “Healthcare worker in a crisis situation” and “Working in medical teams international”. An important aspect of the prepared project is the durability and universality of the anticipated results. The interactive, multilingual textbook (coursebook) will be used by academic teachers and students of Nursing and Emergency Medical Services at the university as a basic tool for conducting practical education, especially in the case of hybrid and distance learning. At the same time, making the textbook (coursebook) available in the open-access system will also enable its use by universities outside the project. In addition, the preparation of a joint program and educational materials necessary to conduct two training courses enables its subsequent editions and training of qualified staff prepared to work in international teams and in crisis situations. As in the case of the textbook, all necessary materials will be available in open-access form to all interested medical universities. The development of joint, international training programs for practical subjects in the fields of Nursing and Emergency Medical Services will facilitate the mutual recognition of qualifications and is the first step to take steps to develop complete joint training programs.

ANOTÁCIA:
Addressing digital transformation through development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity In this strategic partnership we focus on virtual reality (VR), one of the new technologies in health care. Since the use of VR is becoming more widespread in health care, it is important that Nursing educators take a leading role in integration of innovative health care technologies in Nursing curricula. We start from the observation that Nursing curricula pay little attention to digital competences for new technologies such as VR. Therefore, a digital competences framework for Nursing education will be developed, using the European reference tool DigComp. Although VR will be used as an example during the development of digital competences for nurses, this framework can be a starting point to elaborate digital competences for other new technologies in health care, relevant for nursing education, such as mHealth/eHealth applications. In addition, it seems that VR courses are seldom integrated int the Nursing curricula. Therefore, this project wants to be an example of how a digital education content can be created around new technologies in health care such as VR. An interactive, attractive and open source e-learning training module will be developed, thereby using a stepwise and total approach. We start with the investigation of needs, barriers and facilitators towards VR and the development of a digital competence framework for Nursing education. Based on those results, the e-learning course will be developed and piloted among Nursing students and further adapted and improved. In a last step, we prepare students to use and experience VR during skills lab training, so that they are ready to implement VR in clinical practice. During this process teachers/lecturer, students and health care professionals will be involved in order to develop their knowledge, skills and competences towards VR, thereby taken into account gender equality and diversity (e.g. in the recruitment of participants, the selection of illustrations/photo’s for the eLearning course and scenario’s for the instruction film, etc.). Although the main target group are (health care) professionals, the used technology will be easy accessible to a diverse range of people, interested in VR in paediatric care. 2. Stimulating innovative learning and teaching practices This project will trigger Nursing students for new technology in health care and educate them as pioneers for implementing digital innovations in clinical practice in order to optimize care for children and reduce pain and anxiety during Nursing procedures. This project wants to have an impact on their intention and acceptance to use VR in clinical practice. The different project activities will be elaborated from an inclusive point of view, thereby paying attention to gender equality and diversity (e.g. in the recruitment of participants and selection of photo’s/illustration/scenario’s) as well as digital possibilities/challenges of students (e.g. hardware, Internet/wifi, literacy). Central in the project is the development of an open e-learning course on VR, integrated in the Nursing education program. Different kind of (interactive) assignments will be elaborated in order to deepen the theoretical knowledge of the students and to develop their skills, attitude and competences towards VR. The e-learning course will also be available for external and incoming Nursing students. Once developed, piloted and further optimized, the e-learning course can be offered as a micro-credential for graduated nurses and other health care professionals as part of lifelong learning and continue professionalisation and to keep them informed of new technologies in health care such as VR. Participants have the autonomy and flexibility to follow the online module on VR in different steps and on a self-chosen time and location. A certificate will be provided after finalizing the modules and completing different assignments.
