Spiritual service
The goal of Greek-Catholic theological faculty is not just to intellectually prepare students for their future occupation or to widen the knowledge of external students who are already in working positions, but in accordance with its theological focus it also aims to offer Christian values according to teaching of Jesus Christ.
This is what specifies our faculty from other faculties. The chapel does not serve just for delivering or offering of mentioned values within celebration of holy liturgy, but it helps also in practical education of some subjects, such as liturgy or preaching, where students (candidates for priesthood and laity) prepare for their future teacher´s and priest´s mission.
The chapel serves also for strengthening the relationships between teachers, administrative workers, other members of staff and students through daily morning prayer before ever starting working day, then through spiritual renewal that is held regularly before the beginning of winter and summer term and is especially dedicated to teachers and students.
Youth Pastoral Centre
The author of The Decree Apostolicam Actuositatem about laity apostolate emphasizes creating conditions and the space for creating a friendly dialogue between young people and adults. Greek Catholic Youth Pastoral Centre, the founder of which is Archbishop's Office in Prešov, is therefore one of the answers on the decree. Its content is to reach out to young people – students but also those who do not study. The Centre offers activities generally in the afternoon from Monday to Friday. Prepared rich program will not miss the workshops and games, social counselling, screening of films followed by discussion. Tuesday tea meetings during which invited guests will respond to topics related not only to the spiritual life are really valuable.
