Characteristics of study program

Master’s degree study programme: Probation and mediation work  

Field of study:  2.1.12 Theology 
      
      Graduate profile: Graduates are qualified to pursue a career of probation officers who organize and execute supervision over the offender, monitor the enforcement of sentence that is not linked to imprisonment, monitor the behaviour of the convicted during the probation period and offer individual assistance to the convicted in order to help them carry on a proper lifestyle. Graduates are also qualified to pursue a career of mediators who provide the out-of-court solution for conflicts between the offender and the victim. On a theoretical level, graduates have solid knowledge from the area of biblical theology, are able to discern and apply theological implications related to finding alternative approaches and solutions when practising their profession. The study programme focuses on extending the theoretical knowledge and acquiring professional competencies in the area of formation and on spiritual development that gives emphasis on formation of a human person with a focus on the ultimate goal as well as on the welfare of society of which he/she is an integral part. On a practical level, graduates are able to address social, educational and spiritual problems independently and on a professional level and apply the principles associated with planning, organization and assessment of educational care and counselling services. As valuable members of a working team, they are also able to cooperate effectively and creatively with other members of the community in which they live and work.

  • Probation and mediation officer
  • Commercial mediation
  • State administration
  • Consultant and manager in ecclesiastical, ecumenical, state and private institutions and facilities
