Explanations for Applicants Regarding Study Options at the Bachelor’s Degree Level at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prešov in the Academic Year 2025/2026
Standard Study Programs:
- English Language and Anglophone Cultures – If applicants have not taken their secondary school-leaving examination in Slovakia, they can prove the required language proficiency with an internationally recognized certificate. Only FCE and IELTS scores of at least 5.5 will be accepted, and certificates must be officially certified.
Teacher Training Programs:
- English Language and Literature in Combination – If applicants have not taken their secondary school-leaving examination in Slovakia, they can prove the required language proficiency with an internationally recognized certificate. Only FCE and IELTS scores of at least 5.5 will be accepted, and certificates must be officially certified.
Regarding the documents mentioned in the section "General Information on the Admission Process", point (e) for Bachelor’s studies has been supplemented with:
"The applicant is also required to provide proof of language proficiency if the secondary school-leaving examination includes a (foreign) language."
Submitting Your Application
You can complete your application either online (electronic application) or using a printed form. If you choose the online application, you must also print it and send it by mail or deliver it in person to our study department. If you decide to submit a printed application, sample forms are available on this page. Exact names of study programs, combinations, and other necessary information can be found in the documents on this page.
Original documents attached to the application will not be returned.
You can choose between two equivalent options:
- The online form via our academic system MAIS
- The central electronic application for universities (click on the chosen option).

Do not fill in the form of study in the online application.
Required Documents:
Medical Certificate of Health Fitness
- Along with your application, you must provide a medical certificate confirming your health fitness for university studies.

Proof of Payment of the Admission Fee
Certified School Records
- School-certified results of final year reports from previous years of study and a mid-year assessment for the final year.
- A certified copy of the secondary school-leaving examination certificate must be submitted upon enrollment.

If you are an applicant with special needs:
- Before submitting your application, contact the faculty (or university) coordinator for guidance in selecting your study program and available support services.
- Provide the coordinator with sufficient information about your limitations and needs.
- In advance (usually one month before the entrance exam), contact the coordinator to ensure appropriate conditions for the entrance examination.
