Professor dr. Peter Káša

 

Professional guarantor of the Central European Studies programme, which is primarily focused on Polish language and culture for Slovak students and Slovak language and culture for foreign students. He is the chairman of the Slovak-Polish Humanities Commission at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Slovak Republic. He lectures on comparative history of cultures and literatures of Central European countries, Central European film and theatre. His research interests include literary comparative studies in the Central European cultural context. He is the author of several monographs and textbooks, e.g. Between Aesthetics and Ideology (2001), Between Texts and Cultures (2011), From Romanticism to Realism (2013), A Dictionary of Central European Cultures from the Enlightenment to Modernity (2019).Apart from Slovakia, he has published studies and articles mainly in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
