The end of the academic year in the light of internationalization
Dr. Mária Hadjielia Drotárová, PhD. is the head of research at her home institution. At FMB, she had teacher mobility, during which she gave lectures to students of the Tourism, Hotel and Spa industry study program, concerning research activities in the tourism sphere. Through the results from the Cypriot environment, a model case study pointed out the impact of Covid-19 on tourism businesses and educational institutions, which had to respond flexibly and promptly to the diametrically changed market conditions under the influence of the pandemic. She dedicated the beginning of the seminar to "warming up" activities, thanks to which the students had the opportunity to check whether they are leadership types and which they agreed were an interesting refresher of the standard process of the seminars.
Prof. Maria-Madela Abrudan, PhD. is the head of the Department of Management and Marketing, where she also deals with research applied to tourism, and at the same time she is a member of the Standing Committee for Economic Sciences of the Agency for Quality Assurance of Romanian Higher Education. At the FMB, she had a staff mobility, during which common topics were identified that have the potential to be researched in the future. Assoc prof. Ozgur Yayla, PhD. and Dr. Hussain Keles, PhD. delivered a lecture on the development of tourism on the borders of Europe and Asia, pointing to Turkey as a tourism destination.
On the basis of longer and effective cooperation, as well as thanks to these implemented mobilities, mutual cooperation was transformed into a newly prepared project of the KEGA grant scheme. Thanks to this international cooperation between institutions, if the project is successful, internationalization in the educational process, as well as in scientific and research activities, could be strengthened.
Activities of this kind are extremely important for the overall development of the internationalization of academic activities, which often result in other interesting projects and other types of cooperation in the scientific-research and educational fields. We hope that the jointly submitted Slovak-Cypriot-Romanian project will further strengthen this cooperation for the next three academic years.
