Abstract
The first step of any philanthropic organization should be to help people who find themselves in adverse life situations. As well as philanthropic organizations, faith-based organizations should also be involved. From both theory and practice, we can conclude that Christian social work has not only been done in the past, but is also taking place in the present. The IOCC is a humanitarian organization, an association of the canonical Orthodox bishops of the United States of America offering philanthropic assistance without distinction of nationality, race or creed. The paper mentions recent projects that are being carried out in the present day, such as aid in Ukraine, the Syrian crisis, or the repair of homes after natural disasters.

SUMMARY
All organizations and their projects have the same goal - to improve people's quality of life. To establish cooperation with other organizations so that they can contribute and get involved in bigger projects. However, the countries in which the organization is trying to help through various means still have a very long way to go towards normalization. The worst affected countries are mainly in the east, such as Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, where in recent years there has been fierce fighting that has left tens of millions of people homeless. These conflicts have subsequently triggered a migration crisis, particularly in Western Europe, but also in Canada and the USA. International Orthodox Christian Charities - IOCC has been helping for many years through various projects around the world. The current ongoing projects of this organization also try to solve the difficult social situation in the regions concerned. How far they succeed will be seen in hindsight.
