SUMMARY

The literature is the particular importance for Christians living today who really need the experience of the Egyptian hermit acquired and shaped in the process of personal development of the ascetic struggle through various temptations. The written word about monks dating from the days of Rufinus, Palladius, John Cassian or some other eyewitnesses of monks in Egypt has been, and will continue to be, not only a testimony for centuries. Moreover, the lessons learned and the situations they have gone through are a certain church school of blessing, so the existence of this literature is a way of presenting Egyptian monasticism to the widest circle of believing Christians. As for the fact that, through the lessons taught by the faithful, they, together with their clergy, can find answers to how to deal with the difficulty that a person overcomes at a given moment. We can safely say that we feel the influence of Egyptian monks on Christians' lives in their fullness.
