Abstract

This article deals with worshipping of saints icons. Situation during the period of iconoclasm wasn't easy. We will look into the reasons of raising up of the iconoclasm as well as into the thoughts of excellent theologian of that period saint John of Damascus. By the effort of John the question of correct worshipping of saints icons was solved at VII. common church assembly. Three of his speeches were used as an arguments to defend against the iconoclasm.
