Associate professor for discipline Philosophy
He graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava in the field of philosophy (1976), where in 1986 he also defended the title CSc. In 1999 he habilitated at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Matej Bel in Banská Bystrica.
His scientific research focuses mainly on the systematic philosophy, philosophy and ethics of medicine,nursing and bioethics, and on the philosophical issues of tanatology. He is the author of studies and monographs dealing with the philosophical and ethical issues of death, hope, loneliness, the meaning of life and dignity and others.
He taught at the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin, Comenius University in Bratislava, at the Faculty of Humanities of the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica and at the Faculty of Arts of P.J. Šafarika in Košice. Since 2016 he has been working as a researcher and university teacher at the Institute of Ethics and Bioethics, Faculty of Arts, Prešov University in Prešov.
He teaches following courses: Introduction to philosophy, Introduction to bioethics, Philosophy of education, Cultural anthropology, Media ethics, Text seminars on history of philosophy and ethics, text seminars from bioethics.
